eMagine - Reflection

eMagine: A Great Experience

Contrary to what I had expected, I had a great time at eMagine. I saw many different entries, ranging from animations, websites, advertisements, and videos. The categories were all very interesting and I was really amazed at the great quality of all of the entries. I think my two favorite categories were the music video and the short film, however. The two winners of these categories were spectacular, at least in my opinion. The music video was hilarious, well thought-out, and, from a technical standpoint, was very well done. The short film was mysterious and forced you to use your imagination frequently during it. I thought that the fact that it was vague and not very identifiable let you be creative and fill in the missing points and ideas.

I was also very impressed with the way eComm led the event. The evening of presentations and transitioning went very smoothly, especially with the addition of the guitar. I enjoyed getting to watch short clips of the videos and animations, and previewing the graphic/web design entries before the winners were announced. Getting to watch the winner of the category was also enjoyable. I thought the event ran very smoothly and I had a great evening at eMagine.
