3D Bottle Revolve

The 3D bottle I created in Illustrator.

Overview

One of our most recent projects here in Graphic Design, the 3D bottle revolve involved constructing a bottle, by first outlining a template and then creating a 3D model of that outline. Although we weren't given much freedom when it came to the shape of the bottle, we designed sort of a stamp that includes our name that we placed on the exterior of the bottle. I ended up using two blues; a darker shade for the thick outline of the stamp, and a lighter one that made up most of the bottle. I also used a bluish-green color that I placed on the majority of the stamp and the bottle cap.

Techniques

This project helped me learn some new techniques in Illustrator: I learned how to create a 3D object from a simple path, and how to place a vector so it wrapped around the round exterior of a 3D model. This assignment also refreshed my memory on the Pathfinder tool, as I used it to create the shape of my name stamp.
